Overview

This ROADS DESIGN AND SUPERVISION project aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at the IP552 intersection by designing and supervising specific road infrastructure upgrades.

Scope of Work

  • Free Right Turn ImplementationReplace the existing signalized right turn with a free-flowing right turn towards the overbridge. This adjustment is intended to enhance traffic movement efficiency and prevent backup on the main route.
  • Intersection Modifications for Double Left TurnModify the central median noses and chamfer the junction sides to allow smoother double left-turn movements, accommodating higher traffic volumes with minimal delays.
  • Surface Area ImpactThe modifications will span an approximate surface area of 600 m², encompassing all necessary roadwork adjustments to support the new traffic patterns effectively.
  • Project deliverableComprehensive Design and Supervision services to oversee every stage of implementation.
  • Project deliverableDetailed structural and layout plans for road and utility modifications.
  • Project deliverableRegulatory approvals to ensure compliance and smooth project execution.

Road design phases:

01Concept DesignEstablish an overarching vision for the intersection modifications, assessing feasibility and initial design alignment with project goals.
02Preliminary DesignDevelop foundational design criteria, including layout schematics and initial specifications that meet regulatory and functional requirements.
03Detailed Design (Combined Stages)Conduct a 1/2 Road Safety Audit (RSA) to identify and mitigate potential hazards, obtaining approval from the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
04Prepare a Detailed Road Design, ensuring optimal safety and functionality for all intended movements.
05Design for Wet and Dry Utilities as needed, to fully integrate utilities with the new road structure and fulfill all project deliverables.
06Obtain comprehensive ApprovalsSubmit the detailed design for client and authority approval, including necessary Town Planning approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
