The project ENHANCEMENT OF RIGHT TURN aimed to enhance traffic flow and reduce congestion by implementing strategic infrastructure design modifications. The primary goal was to create a more efficient traffic movement through targeted changes to the existing road layout, especially focusing on facilitating smoother turns and minimizing signalized right turns that can cause traffic backlogs.
Key Objectives:
- Implementation of free right turn towards over bridge in place of signalized right turn to facilitate the movement of traffic and minimize any backlogs
- Modifying the central median noses and chamfering on side of the junction to better facilitate double left turn traffic movements
- Total approximate surface area of the affected roadworks to be modified is 600 m2
What We did ?
- Roads Concept Design: Developed an innovative road design concept to resolve traffic bottlenecks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Preliminary Design: Created initial design layouts incorporating client and stakeholder feedback, ensuring a practical and functional approach.
- Roads Detailed Design:
- Combined Stages 1/2 Road Safety Audit (RSA) to ensure the design met safety standards.
- Secured Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) approval, ensuring the design aligned with modern traffic control and monitoring systems.
- Prepared a Detailed Road Design, focusing on optimizing the road layout and traffic movements.
- Designed and integrated both wet and dry utilities to align with the project’s overall infrastructure needs.
- Approval Process:
- Successfully obtained design approvals from the client and relevant authorities.
- Managed the submission and approval of Town Planning Approvals and Design NOCs to ensure the project adhered to municipal and regulatory guidelines.
By employing precise engineering solutions and obtaining the necessary approvals, we ensured that the project not only met traffic efficiency goals but also complied with all safety and regulatory standards. The modifications have improved the traffic flow at the junction, reduced signal delays, and created a safer and more efficient driving environment for road users.
