Project Objective:
This ROADS DESIGN AND SUPERVISION project aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion at the IP552 intersection by designing and supervising specific road infrastructure upgrades.

Road Design Scope of Work:

1. Free Right Turn Implementation:
   

   • Replace the existing signalized right turn with a free-flowing right turn towards the overbridge. This adjustment is intended to enhance traffic movement efficiency and prevent backup on the main route.

2. Intersection Modifications for Double Left Turn:
   

   • Modify the central median noses and chamfer the junction sides to allow smoother double left-turn movements, accommodating higher traffic volumes with minimal delays.

3. Surface Area Impact:
   

   • The modifications will span an approximate surface area of 600 m², encompassing all necessary roadwork adjustments to support the new traffic patterns effectively.

Road Design Phases:

1. Concept Design:
   

   • Establish an overarching vision for the intersection modifications, assessing feasibility and initial design alignment with project goals.

2. Preliminary Design:
   

   • Develop foundational design criteria, including layout schematics and initial specifications that meet regulatory and functional requirements.

3. Detailed Design (Combined Stages):
   

   • Conduct a 1/2 Road Safety Audit (RSA) to identify and mitigate potential hazards, obtaining approval from the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS).
   • Prepare a Detailed Road Design, ensuring optimal safety and functionality for all intended movements.
   • Design for Wet and Dry Utilities as needed, to fully integrate utilities with the new road structure and fulfill all project deliverables.
   • Obtain comprehensive Approvals: Submit the detailed design for client and authority approval, including necessary Town Planning approvals and No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
